Our Club
Black Tie, Inc. was founded in Washington, DC in 1951. The organization is a non-profit, tax exempt organization. Black Tie has approximately 200 members and is led by a Board of Directors consisting of a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer (who are elected annually) and several Past Presidents. The professions are well represented among our members; e.g., medical doctors, lawyers, scientists, engineers, distinguished artists, military officers, corporate executives, government officials and diplomats.
Black Tie holds between six and ten events a year including an annual meeting in October which traditionally has been held at the Congressional Country Club. Various functions may include dinner dances, brunches, cocktail parties and cultural events held in the greater Washington, DC area. Our new members are sponsored by current Black Tie members. Black Tie, Inc's objective is to cultivate friendship and entertainment among peers.
